Ineffable ambiguity…

“And her face (at first just ghostly)
turned a whiter shade of pale.”
Talk to me…, just, with music.
Words cannot help to remember that which
I cherish most in my deepest quiet, within,
not even “A Whiter Shade of Pale.”+
Words left behind as leaves fallen…
…the miller told his tale, but I cannot tell mine…
